---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Yorkshire Air Museum is in Halifax Way Elvington York, in the countryside 5 miles from York. There is a car park, road route is by A1079 then B1228. Public bus from York Rail Station and Merchatgate York at 0945 , 1115 and 1315.---- Large car parking area.--The museum is on a former RAF Airfield, which today still has the longest runway in Britain. In World War 2 the airfield was used extensively by Allied Bomber crews--- In the museum is a NAAFI style restaurant.== Proberley most famous exhbit is the Handley Page Halifax (Friday the 13th )--- Also exhibitions Chapel, Control Tower, Billets, and French Officers Mess.-------Telephone of museum is 01904 608595.
